“My creator, Daisuke Yokota, once said: ‘for me, I don’t make work to express my feelings; it’s more like burning them.’ The Japanese photographer has made thousands of photographs similar to me, creating me by shooting, re-shooting, scanning, developing and boiling film. But whilst the process in which I was born may seem arduous, my form is effortless and effervescent. I am a vision of vibrant colours that mix and meld into one another. I do not resemble anything remotely human, but still give my viewers pleasure of a distinctive and delectable kind. Like water and the reproduction of biological cells, I undulate and flow with seemingly random and organic elegance.
I am a series of photographs by Daisuke Yokota.”
