“On the 20th January 1861, French catholic saint Théophane Vénard wrote a final letter to his father before his death. This letter was discovered by Vietnamese-born, Danish artist, Dahn Vo, who later gave it to his own father to copy. I am this copy. In fact, I am one of many modern copies. No one knows how many we are, and no one will know until our creator ceases to exist. Our creator does not even understand the contents of this letter. We only know that we are a work of art made possible between two father-and-son pairs, separated over 150 years. And that upon request, a new copy of us is formed.
I am a hand-drawn copy of an 1861 letter, a creation by Danh Vo.”
