“Curiously, I am evocative. A sculpture. A whisper. Contorted, twirling in fragile movements. My creators, Ferry van Tongren and Jaap Sinke, once confessed: ‘we have managed to find some really rare and interesting species from zoos and breeders around the world – each animal is selected on colour and drama.’ The Dutch duo salvaged me shortly after I had taken my last breath and delicately transformed me from decaying bird to virtuous sculpture. It is from the bathing process, a fluid transformation, in which I come alive, and captured on film. Lightly touching, I rise and I bend. But whilst the process in which I am born may shock many, I am part of evolution. Mesmerising, frightening and eternally dancing in my sleep.
