“My creator, Liu Dawei, once whispered intently: ‘I am a hunter. Hungry. Waiting to prey in a network-jungle of images.’ The Chinese artist is always watching from the dark recesses of the internet, the shadows of the media, slicing through each image, and creating a second-hand reality. I am both complex and abstract, a creation by man and machine, my very surface is indestructible, a perpetual immortality, composed of industrial acrylic paint and fire-resistant board. With each silent step forward, you will lose perspective of reality and can only read me through touch. I am made of intricate layers, so fine and delicate you can feel each and every contour that forms my silhouette. From afar, I am all but a vector of blurs, a curious self-censorship of gradient shades. A riddle. How close is too close?
I am a creation by Liu Dawei and I come from the Vector series.”
