It was in 2013, in Grasse – the perfume region in the South of France, artist and producer Linn Tieu found herself immersed in a sensorial world, studying and appreciating the art of perfumery at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery. It was here, among layers of scent and memory, that something began to unfold.

From the nearby hilltop village of Cabris, Tout Près Art quietly emerged… a blended word-expression she founded – a conversational art project where scent, story, and connection first sparked her vision. The phrase “Tout Près” (pronounced tu preh) meaning “very close” in French, became more than just a name. These two words deeply influenced her creative freedom and captured the spirit of a certain quiet intimacy, of human connections, and the invisible threads that draw us together. What began as an experiment in perfume-making evolved into a series of artistic collaborations, all guided by the same ideology – forming the core DNA of Tout Près Art; to feel closer; to come together; or to make a connection with art.

Today, Tout Près Art is based in Australia and continues to maintain a rhythmic connection with its roots in France. From its humble beginnings as a conversational art project, Tout Près Art has evolved into an artists’ studio; producing, collaborating, and connecting through art.

From time to time, Tout Près Art partners with artists from around the world to carefully curate inspiring collections of; limited-edition fine art prints, books, and collectibles. Each collection is an invitation to bring art closer, to live gently with art, and to let the art speak softly within your space.

Created as a reaction to today’s fast-paced world, Tout Près Art was developed as a way to re-imagine and re-experience the people and places that surround us.

Our loves include analogue books, handwritten letters, the smell of rain and sleepover conversations until the rise of dawn. We believe in feeling, listening and understanding as the underlying truth of everything that we do, valuing the sensitive and sentient side of humankind.

As we pave the way for heart-centred collaborations, our dream is to create a space for artists and creators to try something new, explore new work with great tenderness, and share the many languages of connection.
