“I am an alien hybrid that remixes many influences from the Western canon of art. Some say I reference impressionism with my pixellated appearance. Others consider me a form of pop art due to my colour application. Others still, say I am but a shadow of Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. And though some people wonder if we were separated at birth, we are genetically different. Unlike Vermeer’s creation, my DNA is made from Pantone colour chips. These chips both highlight the subtleties of colour from Vermeer’s original work, and illustrate the increasing digitalisation of art and culture.
