Act ii-b. If it speaks to your heart, allow space for it

LIMITED-EDITION OF 25

“I think art is about giving. Giving time. Like time, it is always moving forwards. Just like the missing pages between each of my artworks, time is lost, however we keep moving… Sometimes we go backwards in our thoughts, in our memories, but we continue to move forwards in life.”

    Do not rush past me.

I come from the Here Comes a Feeling You Thought You’d Forgotten, series by Mixed-Media Expressionist Artist, Linn Tieu – and I am one of its first quiet awakenings.

I am shaped from memory itself – those invisible things that linger longer than thought: scent, sound, taste, the soft imprint of feeling. I carry language too, gently gathered and collaged from the pages of Remembrance of Things Past – the first English translated edition of Marcel Proust’s À la recherche du temps perdu, now widely known as In Search of Lost Time. My antique pages sit within the public domain. My passages are not quoted so much as remembered – woven into me with care, like the fragments returning home.

If you look closely, I hold a secret. The first letter of each page, when read together, forms a hidden message – something i keep for those who linger long enough to notice. I am not loud. I am a whisper that waits to be found.

I am brought to life through the timeless fusion of technology and artistry, rendered with the exquisite finesse of the Giclèe (pronounced ‘zhee-clay’) printing process and shaped with the refinement of the latest Canon PROGRAF PRO6100. I am given breath through the 12-colour LUCIA EX ink system. The result, I embody all the richness of an impressive colour gamut, with enhanced scratch resistance, preserving every detail in quiet clarity – my worn textures, faded tones, layered echoes of my antique pages.

I rest upon Canson Photographique Photo Rag 310gsm. Made in France from 100% cotton – a smooth matte surface that holds me like a quiet breath, allowing every tone and texture to unfold in contemplative stillness.

I am not just an image.

    I am a passage.

    A glimpse.

A memory returning, as if you had once forgotten me… and are only now remembering how I feel.

I am Act II-B. If It Speaks to Your Heart, Allow Space for It and I come from the Here Comes a Feeling you Thought You’d Forgotten series.

When it is time for me to come to you, I am handled with care – white-gloved hands gently guiding me, as though I matter (because I do). I am softly rolled, never folded and placed into a reinforced archival tube made to protect me as I make my way into your world.

I am made to order, one at a time, with patience and attention. My creation is never rushed, for fine art prints – taking around 5-7 days to be carefully produced and prepared.

Once I am ready, I begin my journey through trusted couriers. You won’t lose sight of me! I come with tracking, so you can follow me as I move closer to you.

And for all rolled artworks, shipping is free within Australia and internationally.

When I arrive, I ask for something simple. A signature. Just a moment of acknowledgement that I have reached you safely.

    I am not just sent.

    I am coming to you.

    Artist Statement

Memory is infinite, nothing touches you like the sense of smell, the profound impressions from taste and the sounds you hear.  A sentimental observer,  Linn Tieu is a mixed-media expressionist artist inspired by the dream language of manipulating the senses and articulating the human experience with a deep profound  sense of emotional connectedness, steeped in beautiful truths.
Inspired by the great novelist, Marcel Proust. Linn dutifully collage’s passages from Remembrance of Things Past, the first English translated edition of,  À la recherche du temps perdu ~ now commonly known as, In Search of Lost Time. The montage embodies a contemporary look at the pages of the world’s longest novel ever written about a man reflecting on what it is to be alive. A passage. A glimpse. We are immersed with intricate words. A world where the self, entangled with indecision, meets the flux of the world around it, suspended in language, unbound by time nor place.
Each artwork invites quiet discovery. The first letter on every page, when combined, reveals a hidden message – deliberately concealed, waiting to be found. A secret for those who linger, who look a little closer. The effect is uncomplicated, yet hauntingly alluring, drawing the viewer into a deeper gaze. A conversational piece, to feel lost in a moment, for each creation whispers a universal hidden message that is both poetic and pensive.
“I think art is about giving. Giving time.  Like time, it is always moving forwards.  Just like the missing pages between each of my artworks, time is lost, however we keep moving… Sometimes we go backwards in our thoughts, in our memories, but we continue to move forwards in life. I like to imagine my art is a door to connection, a medley of emotions all wrapped up in shades of hope and love. A lost memory. Each of my artworks gently unfolds over three contemplative acts: an opening whisper,  a moment of reflection, and lastly the resolution. I loved getting tangled in the world of Proust – a world where time is fluid, where time lost, time found and simply in-another-time is a recurring theme that weaves between each of the three-acts, simultaneously with the persistence of memory – the idea that our memories of people and places are constantly with us.”
