I am not as still as I seem.

I was born from the Stillness That Moves series, a quiet meditation by artist Jonathan Teo – not through force, but through surrender. He stepped aside and let water speak, letting it move, shape and reveal itself. And in that letting go… I came to life.

Look closely… I carry that same gentle motion. A softness that shifts. A depth that doesn’t rest. Because water is not just what you see… It is life. It is you. It is me.

I am brought to life through the timeless fusion of technology and artistry, rendered with the exquisite precision of the Giclée (pronounced ‘zhee-clay’) printing process and shaped with the refinement of the latest Canon PROGRAF PRO6100. My archival inks hold every detail in quiet clarity and depth, as I rest upon Breathing Color Lyve 450gsm Canvas – a matte polycotton surface where tone and texture unfold slowly, like light across water.

And what sets me apart, what collectors and aficionados quietly notice, is how I am finished.

I am sealed with a fine museum-grade varnish, gently misted across my surface until I carry a soft satin glow. It deepens my tones, softens the light upon me, and protects what I hold – guarding me from light, from moisture, from the slow fading of memory.

When you receive me rolled, please take me to a professional framer, where my additional 70mm border allows me to be carefully stretched and wrapped around a timber frame.

It is there I am brought to my final form, made to last, to remain as I am for many years to come.

And yet… within me, I am always moving.

    Stay a moment.

    You might feel it too.

I am Resilience, a Thousand Currents Unseen, and I come from the Stillness that Moves series.

When it is time for me to come to you, I am handled with care – white-gloved hands gently guiding me, as though I matter (because I do). I am softly rolled, never folded and placed into a reinforced archival tube made to protect me as I make my way into your world.

I am made to order, one at a time, with patience and attention. My creation is never rushed, for fine art prints – taking around 5-7 days to be carefully produced and prepared.

Once I am ready, I begin my journey through trusted couriers. You won’t lose sight of me! I come with tracking, so you can follow me as I move closer to you.

And for all rolled artworks, shipping is free within Australia and internationally.

When I arrive, I ask for something simple. A signature. Just a moment of acknowledgement that I have reached you safely.

    I am not just sent.

    I am coming to you.

    Artist Statement

Emotions never sit still. Even in its quietest moments, it stirs beneath the surface. Just like the ocean, no matter how calm it may appear, there is always movement beneath the surface, a pulse, the rhythm of life. Water in its simplest form, is life. It gives life. Sustains life. Carries life. Where there is water, life flourishes.
Contemporary artist, Jonathan Teo often turns to the oceanic waters as both subject and collaborator. Working in monochromatic oils, each meticulous, micro-brushstroke renders water not simply as an element, but a living force, a partner in creation. He approaches it with reverence, sometimes stepping forward, sometimes stepping back, but always listening to its movement. His reflections emerge not as instructions, but as meditations, for painting with water is an act of surrender, to force it, is to lose its truth. To listen, is to allow it to reveal its true beauty.
“When I work with water in my art, I often try to step aside, to let it be. I allow water to paint itself, to let it move, shape, and express without interference. Water is not simply an element, it’s a living presence. When I started with this series, I would imagine I was a conductor guiding an orchestra, the sea rising and falling like a symphony of unimaginable power. But the truth is, water can’t be conducted, it simply can’t be forced, it has its own life. In the end, I realised all I ever wanted was to show that water is life. It is you. It is me. Just like water, we are not fragile, we are fluid, we are able to move around, reshape, and still nourish everything we touch. Water teaches us surrender, resilience, and renewal. It invites us to flow forward in life, to live not in resistance, but in harmony.”
