Who Am I Without Shared Gravity? – A poem by Genie Yumi Lynch
Genie Yumi Lynch writes quietly, the way some people watch the world – observing first, feeling deeply, and only then finding the words. A young artist at the beginning of discovering her voice and the world around her, her work moves through reflection, curiosity, and the small moments that often pass unnoticed. This poem feels as though it belongs to the stillness of early morning, a quiet hour around dawn, when the moon lingers in the sky, and the first flowers begin to rise. Suspended between night and day, just when the world begins to listen.

A confession,
Who am I without shared gravity?
Tethered through echoes of regression,
Her absence unfolded the weight of my reality,
Shine far, bright star, my reflection
I wandered into reverie,
Unaware of my inner defiance,
In peace, I believed myself to be,
Yet her silhouette danced around the silence
Fall returned and the wind sang softly,
Red leaves drifted down the great oak tree,
There, I traced my dissonance gently,
And greeted the hollow I feared to see
Seamlessly, I eased in to know,
For I am as fallible as I am growing,
An exhale, weightless, held me whole,
A faded glow, now overflowing
